Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder, was born on Winona Minnesota. Parents named her Winona after the town she grew up in. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's dad came from the Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. The actress is the younger sister of Uria as well as two half siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder moved together with her family to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. The family didn't have electricity. Ryder was a prolific reader due to the lack of television. In 1983 when she was 12 years old, Ryder enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. In 1986 she landed her first role on the big screen in the film Lucas at just 15 years old. Ryder was bullied at her high school. She hoped that her career in acting would end that. It didn't turn out. However, she was determined to pursue the dreams she had. Ryder made her breakthrough through Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder was able to continue her successful roles in many movies. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated to win Academy Awards. One of was for her performance In The Age of Innocence.
